The pain of being a missionary

It hurts

I am weighed down

But they lift me up

The contagious joy that they spread fills my lungs

It is impossible to escape

The genuine care behind their eyes

The all too real pain they hide in their hearts

It's devastating

But they lift me up

I am not even in their situation

I thought we were here to help them

But the process has been reversed

We weren’t brought here to change them,

We were placed here so that they might change us

Keep your eyes open, your heart steady

Expectant of what they may show you next

Very thought-provoking and an interesting perspective. This is clear and straightforward- therein lies its impact.
