Pain Stings

Some say that pain is something that feels forever

but is only there well never

and depression

we decide we will make our obsession

I know you can only make something of yourself

when you don't cling to the past

eventually I will have to put it all up on the shelf

only to bring it back down like the time before or the last

They say pain is a chest at the bottom of the sea

it won't be brought back up until it is nothing, but debris

this isn't something you can overlook

like when you "study" up on a book

This is something that pierces your heart

it will rip it open and soon

it's something that eventually will tear you apart

make you feel like you've been left maroon

Counseling will talk it out but can't solve it all

you'll only find yourself in the middle of a brawl

only to find you've started it yourself

you can't even do as much as assert oneself

Only to find yourself thinking of death

others think you'll come out of it you're just really depressed

I honestly wish I didn't see this as all I have left

and to those whom say it's a phase I protest

Disappointment and good at things but great at nothing

I look in the mirror and I can't help but think ugly disgusting

you look at yourself as unforgivable and when it's too much to bear

you figure it's time to leave you're not worth the time it takes to repair
