The Pain, the Writing

Years and years the pain has grown.

Manifesting deep inside me.

Down, down, down I go, deep inside this burning hole.

Wait! I see a light.

Words scrawled on empty pages. They bring me to tears.

Writing! My only light in this dark, burning, dreadful world.

The pain inside can be lulled,

But writing takes it away.
