Painful Addiction

I cry and beg and scream and plead, Yet you turn your head and still do the deed Gone for hours, ignoring calls and leaving me on read Nothing to deter you from the high not a baby not the dead You self destruct what you have built and leave me to die No longer caring about me or your unborn child I cry myself to sleep and my hearts shattered It feels like my life is in tatters I thought I left the chaos behind when I got clean But you never left your addiction behind bringing it with us Bring with it the guilt pain and shame on a huge bus And worrying about you become a daily thing And before i knew it you became my painful addiction But I know what I have to do for my unborn child and me No matter how painful it might be.
