Painful Echoes

I need silence now.

One with no voices

Echoing painfully in my thoughts.

I sit here at the bottom

Of my mind,

Where I wrap myself

In soothing darkness.

But still I hear

The raging voices of others

Out there,

Drowning the peace I crave.

A purposeless, painful roar beating

Upon me relentlessly.

Even my darkness

Could not give me comfort.

They know where I hide, and

I shall never know peace

No matter how deep

Is my abyss where I hide.

The voices out there

Shall always find me.
