The painful truth
A poem by Michael Lovick
The painful truth
I hate the world
The world hates me
I guess that is the way it must be.
My dad abandoned me when i was three
That proves to you the world hates me.
People tell me i’m fat, and i look like a monkey
I’m alone in this world, and nobody loves me.
I do nice stuff for people and they act like they don’t love me
But when i turn my head it’ll be the same people joke me.
I put on a fake smile
I hope nobody notices my pain.
The pain of not knowing love
The pain of being isolated from the world like a desies
The pain of being treated like a monster
The pain of waking up;
Waking up to a poor family,
And on christmas day wish to see your father.
So you realize what you must do.
You forget how to love and care for other people
So you never feel that pain again.
Until one day you try to make friends,
And fail, fail life as you know it.
So to prevent your pain from spreading
You tell the people that do care to stay away, and forget
Forget you completely, so there is no trace left.
At this point you fully understand pain.
