Paint

By trying on this facade,

It makes me a fraud.

But I must keep other happy,

While I'm inwardly crappy.

'Always take others first,

Even at your worst.'

I'll keep trying on paint

To make me seem quaint.

By always laughing,

I hide I'm dying.

What color paint should I now choose?

No matter, I'll still loose.

No one can ever see inside,

And the tempting of wanting to hide.

Lock up your feelings very tight.

Keep them secret with all your might.

I'll take yellow, red, green, and blue.

Just to hide my feelings from all and you.

This paint has a certain scent

Masking my inward dent.

Only few can ever see through,

But none know what to do.

What color paint should I pick

To cover my tomb's crypt?

Only few know the true feeling

Within that I'm dealing.

I can't help my pain

That causes this strain

On my pitiful life

In my horrific strife.

Mix a paint and mix the color,

Mix a feeling to match a color.

I'll pain myself for all to see,

Few ever knowing the true me.

What are the colors I have left?

Pick a good one for my death.
