Paint A Picture

If you could paint a picture,

what would you draw?

A dark night full of mystery?

A sunset brighter than the sea?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words,

but I sit here scribbling rapidly.

The world around me quakes,

unable to keep it's place.

The sky is sparkling magically,

clouds float through the dancing of stars,

creating a new kind of image,

one of song and passion.

Within the world softer sounds ring,

like the owls talking in the tree's.

Or even the echo of leafs falling.

The wind speaks its mind, it has all along.

If you could paint a picture,

what would it be?

A million words struggling to be?

A rhythm of lyrics put to a beat?

or simply your beautiful being?

I'm from California. I love any form of writing but my favorite is poetry. I'm 15 years old. I get a lot of comments about being so young but I don't think your writing should be judged on what you look like, how old you are, etc. Instead it should be judged on the emotion that lives in the writing. I've only been writing poetry for about two years now. I started after my dad passed away and I've slowly improved since then, however, I still have much to improve on. That's a huge majority of why I'm on here. So, Please let me know any advice or suggestions you may have. Thank You.
