A Pair of Hands
The light one night was so bright,
So bright to be that of an angel, but far more than that.
A flush white robe with the natural hair laying flat down,
And red blood stripes covered the back, so painful to see.
A kind gentle face and the eyes of a child,
Walked on and rough feet,
The muscular strength of five men his size.
A cup in its hands full of wine,
And a heart so pure and tender, thou must know it's you.
A spiritual presence like none other before,
And kind marking words from a violent-free mouth.
A look so great, you would see a child, not a man,
And the touch of a hand that felt as though air.
The only clean hands were resting on me,
Only one pair of hands could it really be.
Only one description could match this,
And only one could give such a silent curing kiss.
The owner of this one pair of hands,
The name to remember is Jesus Christ.
