Pale Blue Dot
I see it on the pale blue dot
I see the innocent giggles slip from children’s mouths
worlds filled with magic and pure happiness
I see the sadness of the elderly
with their finals days soon coming to an end
I see the desperation to fit in
by the school rejects
I see the joy of newlyweds
fresh beginnings and infatuation in their future
I see the tears drip softly
from a sweet baby’s eyes
when all she wants is to be heard
I see the silly God’s
people put all of their faith into
without any confirmation of its truth
I see the slaps
from loving parents
on the bottoms of those who misbehave
I see the 7pm tv dinners
all alone in an empty apartment
trying to figure out the Wheel of Fortune
I see the 3am conversations
a therapy session from those who are closest to us
I see the rusty razor blades
ripping the skin
of those who believe they don’t matter
I see the cars
filling lungs with pollution
accidents
taking the lives of brothers
daughters, husbands
I see the anxiety
fear hidden
buried beneath the skin
never showing weakness
I see the death wishes
teenagers drowning in responsiblity
a permanent solution
I see the scowls
I see the heartbreak
I see the laughter
I see the hope
I see it all
On the pale blue dot
