As I lay on a hammock
I reminisce in the palm tree's presence.
It's sturdiness yet helplessness amazes me.
I sway in awe as it continues to sway with the breeze.
The warm tropical winds keep us in sync.
Time is passing but the palm tree and I seem to be stopped in time.
I try to mock its actions.
I let the wind whirl me back and forth, feeling so limp,
like the palm tree.
I tense up, trying to control the movement,
like the palm tree.
Such nature, so beautiful,
it's hard to leave the site.
As daylight turns to dusk,
I try with all my might.
Leaving my hammock, with nothing but a book
The palm tree, so precious, I take one more look.
