Palms (Rondeau)

Open up the gates, let the people see

The one who is to be our king!

The strength he holds inside his hand

Shall bring peace to our humble land.

Fall down and worship at his feet!

For this is the one who holds the key

To greatness and to victory.

Upon our enemies he will stand,

Open up the gates!

But wait! He rides on a poor donkey,

Our king, full of humility!

Truly, God has come to man,

Save us now! Restore the land!

Come and let the people see,

Open up the gates!

I enjoy writing, and have begun to try my hand at poetry a bit more frequently in the past year. While I likely won't post too terribly often, this seems like a pretty good place to share it and get it out there beyond my offline circles. Hope you enjoy!
