Panic Attack

A malignant tremor of terror

Wracks my solid frame

And I know I cannot stop the chokes

That fill my soul with shame

And as the words stop coming

And all reason leaves my brain

I feel the palpitations

And all my feelings drain

I try to find my happy place

Some sweet mental escape

But the panic hits like death

And closes like a drape
