Panic! (a poem about anxiety)

tick tock.

tick tock.

you’re running out of time.

you’re going to be too late.

tick tock

tick tock

the clock will never wait for you,

what makes you think that you’re so special?

tick tock

life is counting down.

the end is drawing near.

you are not out of the shadow’s reach.

keep running!

tick tock

can you hear the waters rise and fires blaze?

tick tock

he’s crawling from his lair.

the road has ended

the air is too thin.

Run!

Can you feel your muscles quake?

can you sense your lungs quiver?

tick tock

tick tock

silence

you are safe for now

morning came just soon enough.
