pant cakes

(written for sobo...)

brown eyes so full of  gaze

peering up to see the stove hot; bacon grease; mix to make morning cakes

flipped

plated

smothered in ten-year old syrup left lost in a pantry

her feet

her gaze now change

watching me eat

dogs sure know how to appreciate

as this one nibbles small pieces

falling beneath the table.
