Going to the theater for all the world to see

People on the big screen who, for the first time, look like me

Giving many kids a chance to connect with character’s identity

Deconstructing the stereotypes of my community

For a brief time, all saluting in unity

Having our voices heard for an equal opportunity

Strong black women presented as warriors and queens

Not being silenced by any means

Storyline diving into the topic of race

Resulting in such beauty and grace

Setting standards that are groundbreaking

Creating a movie that is breathtaking

Cultural diversity starting a movement

That will hopefully lead to improvement

Black Panther has been an inspiration

And without hesitation

Still continues to change the nation
