Pan’s Sorrow

The gods and goddesses are wailing and weeping,

For Pan is laying dormant; dead,

Forever sleeping,

Overcome by the mechanical power of man, nature is fading,

Eternally hidden by the rubble left forgotten in man’s stead.

No power left to show his rage, he melts,

Pouring his tears of sorrow, hoping someone will see his pain,

Hoping someone will help,

But when man glanced his way; stonely, unfelt,

His pleas were  deemed unimportant, even feigned.

False was Pan’s cries! Man screamed in rage,

Nature is fine; there is no need for change,

So let us continue our work for society and pollute the Earth,

In the midst of Pan’s and nature’s sorrow,

For nothing truly drastic will happen; at least not tomorrow...
