Paper and Pen
I want you to write me a letter. Take a moment out of your day to show me what love feels like. I want you write me a letter, tell me everything you love about me, describe the things you love and even some of the things you don’t.
And then write how it’s okay because those are the things that simply make me—me, even the little things because they’re just as important.
Write about my plain brown eyes or my shy smile.
I want you to write me a letter, and keep in mind the only ones to know will be you, me, and the paper. So say everything you want to say and write about the simple things too—the things you’d like to do together—like hold me close while I draw meaningless circles on your chest.
Write me a 1000 pages if you have too, as many as it takes to describe me as yours and you as mine. I want you to write about the first time I made you smile or laugh, write about our gentle touches during late nights, write about the first time you thought of me with the word ‘Love’ following right behind.
God, you see Love is such a big adventure and I’ve accidently fallen in love with the simple idea of Love. I’m not exactly sure but maybe the big adventure won’t be so scary if you’re there with me?
Paper, pen, and your words from the beginning to the middle but certainly not the end because paper and pen are endless so write as much as you can, every—little—detail.
And during those stormy nights when you’re holding me in your arms while I’m drawing those meaningless circles; read me your letter, slowly—word for word whispering in my ear with my eyes closed—showing me what love feels like.
