Paper and Pen
All I need in this word is my paper and pen,
To silence the thoughts that threaten to cut me.
So that when the dead of night comes, my skeletons will stay buried.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
So I can express the emotions my mouth can't possibly articulate.
So that when the weight of the world falls too hard on my shoulders, I can share the burden which is often too heavy to carry.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
To stop the rage that flows within me.
So that my demons aren't released,
igniting a hellish fury.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
To set the world ablaze with my fiery tongue and barbed laced words.
So that everyone can understand the hell I've been through.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
To describe the beauty on this earth,
the magnificent lightd and luminous stars.
So that someone else could appreciate life almost as much as I do.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
To tell my sister I'll miss her when I'm gone.
And to tell my father I've forgiven him for leaving.
All I need in this world is my paper and pen,
To imagine a world where everything is alright.
Where there's no pain or heartbreak, and no people who leave.
All I need is my paper and pen,
To write out my happy ending.
So when life becomes all too much, I'll read my story and be proud of how far I've come
