Paper Man
I am a paper man, one who can barely stand
A tiny space between eternal future and past
I am but a blot of ink on the page of life
So many that I am forgotten fast
I have felt the universe in my chest
Life so full it seems that there is more to me
Yet other times the wolrd bellows big
And I am nothing but a tiny squeak
Time gently carries, until it decides to drop
Then the drop is not to ground but in it
Life is a game but all games end
But life you lose, you never win it
Love I feel, burning like a firestorm
Yet at times it flickers, drenched by fear
I know its real, because the fire burns back
And doubt is much harder to hear
Life can seem like a dream my mind made
But I know it's not true because I've seen
The ancientness of the mountains and valleys
They tell me that they've always been
Life I live, a hermit in my own head
Listening to the same voice from a different body
Age creeps like a thief in the night
Yet it does so bodly, and thus oddly
I am a paper man, one who can barely stand
A tiny space between eternal future and past
My space I inhabit, in my space I live
Until I find the reason I exist, a creator of my paper body
