Paper Memory

Glossy 4x6

into my weathered hand

lies a vision.

A long ago memory.

Squinting eyes reflecting light

approaching the horizon.

This moment.

All was well.

Thirteen years later

I still gaze at this paper with the wondrous reflection.

So much affection for my person.

Light gone too soon.

still I grasp.

My hand will hold this photograph

until our souls

meet again.
