Paper Power
Paper,
I tell you all my secrets.
I whisper them in your ear.
I share with you my regrets
When there's no one else to hear.
I exclaim my joys and dreams
When you are by my side.
You endure my screams
And absorb my tears when I cry.
You give me strength to cope
With my emotional wounds
And give me the hope
That I'll make it through.
You allow me to create sparks
Of thoughts and emotions in others
And to leave behind my mark
Through what I uncover.
You rescue me from boredom
And transport me to another place
Where I can march to my own drum
And lose track of time and space.
I know I can always depend
On you to not judge, to just listen.
I can rely on you to be my friend
And spread my messages and missions.
These past three years,
We’ve been through thick and thin,
And I have no fear
That we’ll do it many times again.
