Paper Rainbows

Emerald and aqua, then scarlet hues

A streak of pink or pastel blue

Colors swirl together with beauty and grace

Pencils meet paper with the sweetest embrace

Everyone warns "Stay inside the lines"

But, out of them is where the true creativity bides

Art can't be contained by streaks of black

And limitations yield pieces that lack

I sigh out a breath of contentment and peace

For it is in coloring that I experience release.
