Parachute

Someday,
When I'm rich and bored
Someday
I'll buy Hundreds of parachute army toys,
The kind used as party favors at children's birthdays,
And I'm going to throw them off a building.
The people below
Will be asleep.
It's four in the morning.

But when the sun rises
And they wake up,
Rubbing their eyes, yawning,
They'll open their doors to city street battlegrounds
The miniature plastic bodies of warriors.
Evidence of a violent celebration of life.
Those brave tokens that took to the air,
Dancing and tumbling,
Tangling with the early morning
Which
Momentarily
Gave them life.
