paracosm

i find little torments in my mind

and i shape them, bathe in them, wrap myself with them

because sometimes i only find comfort

in the pains i manufacture for myself

to remind myself that i feel intensely

that here i have control over the horrors - ones that i conjure

that here i'm no longer subject

to the ruin and fear i found myself in

here i have dominion

and it's a terrible place
