Paradise

She smiles reasuringly,

and I spy a ship of hope on the horizon.

She wipes away my tears,

and my unbearable thirst is quenched.

She lifts me up when I fail,

and I find shelter in the storm.

She calls me down for dinner,

and I escape starvation.

Her embrace is my paradise.

Without my mother

I am a desert island.
