Paradise on a Page

What a sweeter escape than that of a book

whether it be borrowed from the library

or simply downloaded on a nook

What a blissful escape, that of a book

there’s a paradise waiting

you just have to look

What is the duty of a book?

who is to know what to make of it

Who knew of such oddities and adventures

as those that fill the pages bind to bind

stories of lovers, treachery, crime

As silent movies take place in the mind
