Paradise Regained

We encounter many people in life and never know what's in their deepest thoughts; if we did know we would label them as crazy, due to the lack of understanding of the situation that causes this label to be nailed upon them. But, one thing that we all know about one another’s deepest thoughts is that we all want to be loved; but why? Because love is the most powerful force in the world. It can manipulate a multitude of people and make them do things that they'd never do. The one thing about love that makes it an acceptable dictator is that people are addicted to its demands. Its demands are things that make us feel good; why would we want to stop feeling good? I knew he didn't love me but I wanted to feel his body on mine; I wanted to be held and kissed and missed. I knew what I was doing to myself , but the love I had for myself was faint. I was weak and wanted to feel wanted for the first time and I dragged myself into giving him a part of me, knowing that it was going to mean nothing to him, but hoping that it would. Then I ended it and took a couple of days to shake myself of this brief love addiction, like an addict. I cried, paced, starved physically and emotionally, and then I took responsibility for my own pain and gained strength. I realized that love takes many forms and that we should only embrace the form that doesn't cause pain, but everlasting joy ( paradise regained)
