The paradox of battle

Tell yourself you're blessed

Even when everyone else has more

An "easy life" and unbroken spirit

They are whole down to the core

The battle raging inside you is beating down your soul

But the war is strenghtening your army

The army to help you in the cold

Pull yourself from the foxhole, soldier

Remember all that is worth the fight

Take back the land your demons have stolen

In the darkest of all your nights

This is your blessing

And half your curse

The wisdom, a double edged birthright

For pain brings out the brightest

The greatest of all the lights
