The paradox of words

Humans shouldn't be so damn complicated
I should not be able to write so much about myself
Things shouldn't be so powerful or painful that the only way to deal is to put it into language
All were programmed to do is
eat
sleep
f***.
That's it.
So why do we make things so endlessly confusing?
Why is it such a burden to be alive?
What went wrong?

It all started with language
Interaction equals complication
Paradoxically,
act of taking your soul
And putting it into words,
Trapping the feelings in paper,
frees you of the pain, sorrow, and anguish.
Words generously,
and with an apologetic sigh and a regretful look at all the
mess they caused,
will take on
and share the burden
Of the agony that unavoidably
arrives with being able to express oneself
and letting a fickle human into your heart.
Language kills pieces of you, but redeems itself by being exactly the thing that will set you
