Parallel

Lush golden wheat fields stretched across the plain,
Grazing cattle and bleating sheep.
I reach out to feel the warm sunlight on the backs of my hands,
And the gentle caress of the breeze.
The wheat bends and moves with the wind in patterns.
Leaves rustle in the oaks and the branches squeak like old doors.

A beautiful butterfly lands on my finger,
Batting its wings like a girl would her eyelashes.
The colors were like nothing I had ever seen,
They mixed and swirled in a rainbow pattern.
Suddenly, the wonderful giant took flight;
Her wings contrasting with the sky like a diamond against a pebble.
I sigh and watch her fly away,
Revelling in the beauty of the world.
