Parallels

I am an ocean

Restless, impatient, wildly emotional, unpredictable

I am the ocean

And you are the sky

I reflect you

Your mystery and raw beauty

When you are clear and bright,
I glitter in the sun

When you’re stormy, cloaked in dark clouds
My waters are dark and violent

Most notable are the sunsets
Gorgeous, aggressively colorful

At your touch,
I light up

Like the sun, you sink into me

And for a moment

We cease to be parallels,
Identical but never touching

You and I become one,
Two halves of a whole

Stunning, inspiring

Night falls,

And I reflect your dreams

You invade mine

A sky full of stars

Reflected in the calm ocean waters
