Parents

People always told me,

That my best friends could become my enemies.

Too bad nobody warned me about my family.

In my time of need,

They let me down.

We I needed them most they didn’t want me in the same town.

I told them of my struggles,

Expecting them to understand.

But instead of giving me love, they kicked me out as planned.

Not even an adult yet,

And not knowing what to do.

I had to grow up quick and find my breakthrough.

Through lots of pain and sorrow,

And feeling like no one cared.

I got myself through it and in return am now prepared.

I know the world is changing,

And it is hard to live through.

But I’ve learned that with a smile,

You can do what you need to do.
