Parking Lot #1

No room

Last resort

Loud bang

Pothole shakes the car

Cracked asphalt

Hot under the sun

Late again

Stop

Find a spot

Trudge to class

Through green forested path

No conversation

No one speaks

Shoes muddied

Woke up early

Walked across campus

Only to discover

A single note,

“Class is cancelled”
