A Part Of Me

Same family line, same heritage As cousins we were bound. Time spent with you was filled with joy. A better friend never found. Blanket forts, secret pacts, Scrapbooks, trampoline, Dance shows in the living room We sure could make a scene! My confidant, my truest friend Such fun things we would do. Camping trips and all night talks My love for you was true. So when life took that terrible turn And you were taken away A part of me was ever changed I’ll never forget that day. I knew that life was not the same My world had ceased to spin. A part of me had gone with you I was broken deep within. Though time has passed and life moved on I miss you, all can see. But I thank God for the part of you That is always a part of me.
