The Part of Me.

The Part of me

I want to be what they said I wouldn’t

I want to do the things they said I couldn’t

I want to see the things they said I shouldn’t

I see the stars align in front of my eyes

How can you tell me I can’t

When I can see the your lies

I see past the untruthful ways you’ve come accustomed to

And live to the the opposite of you

Who are you to tell me

Who I can cannot be?

Trust me

The future I see

I see a bright new me

A life that I’ve worked hard for

And the life that you’ve strived for

I put the work in while you watched

And every time I fell

You sat back and added a notch

But I continued to rise

And you just sat on by

Doubting me

While on the road I was on a drought

Felling like everything in me was coming out

But I did it for me

And you did it just to see

If I could succeed

Because you never believed in me.
