A Part of You
Evil, the cavernous dark crevice rooted deep in the heart.
Vile vines intertwine with nerves constricting your being.
The invisible element incessantly lurking beneath your skin,
Seeping through the nervous system. You are unaware when the shadow- Black and tainted-
Escapes.
It crawls between your teeth,
Pours out your lips.
Piercing the listeners' ears ever so carefully,
Reviving darkness in their own souls.
Jealousy, envy, mockery, deceit: all of the components of gloom and spite
Decend from that creature resting in the far end of your mind-
Evil.
It takes hold, devouring what shards of self-control that remain.
Once you are defenseless, the devouring Daemon abandons your body;
You become a pillar in its mass of architecture.
It might hide, it might withdraw,
In rolling fumes of hatred from your very frame.
Evil is always a part of you.
