Part of You

I write to you to praise you.

For the way that you have hurt me

in ways that cannot be described.

They cannot be described

because they were not out of malice,

Moreso out of neglect.

You forgot that I have

a mind that thinks for itself,

A mouth that runs on its own,

A body that grows alone.

You forgot that I have feelings,

That I hurt,

That I cry,

That I bleed.

You have made me powerful

A lover of many

A pillar to many

A threat to many.

Though you have made me strong

I am still weak when I look to you

Because I want you to care for me

Because I want you to love me

Because I was once part of you.
