Partial Explanation

Seems like a long time,

Since I took a moment to think.

About the great past I’ve had,

The fine meals, or the frequent gifts for no reason.

Or to even think about my future.

Obtaining my masters in nursing,

or the vast mansion I’ll own.

It’ll all be worth it.

Seems like I’ve worked so hard,

Long, rigid days of school,

The discourteous and also annoyed educators

And don’t forget the abundant homework.

Showing up on time for work,

Never missing a day,

All will soon pay off.

The raise seems to show proof.

Seems like a long time since I’ve gotten a thank you,

or an “oh, good job!”

But I keep moving with two feet.

Internal motivation is key.
