Parting, as they say,is

Parting, as they say,

is such sweet sorrow

but what makes that sorrow sweet

to one full of longing?

Love might do.

The feeling of being

wanted

needed

being whole

because you've split yourself in two.

Another has your heart,

and with love they keep it safe

yet it's not closed off in a box

under lock and key.

No, it is still open,

vulnerable.

Its keeper nourishes this precious gift

as long as they shall live.

And now you live,

for you have what your cannot be without.

You are fulfilled.
