Parting Waters

Don't tell me that man did not change the world You cannot look me in the eye and tell me, he was not Martin's dream reincarnated Reincarnation is not a Christian belief But somehow possession is, Though it takes a certain brand of flesh to be possessed And that brand of flesh don't look like mine, or his I don't know about you but in my church, we don't mess with spirits Spirits are white, and white has already taken to much from black My body, his body, our bodies are not for anyone to possess So, reincarnation would be the only option And I believe this to be true That when he walks he is proud to do so with his staff And when he makes decisions from his white house You can still see the Red Sea in his eyes No, he is not the son of God, Jesus Christ No, he is not the man with the dream He is the man who set his people free His people those people, those that are abused in the named of His God Moses, I mean Barrack, set out to make change To liberate and to spread the word He once said "let my people go" Now he says "yes we can" God first handed him the commandments, on stone tablets Now he signs off on them as executive orders But he did not stop there He did not stop when he hit the red sea When the government shut, down And would not let him press on He took his staff, now called cabinet And with divine power Split the Red Sea sea stained red with the color of conservative Stained red with the blood beaten out of his kin Stained red with necks of those who called for his life But with his staff he was divine With his staff, he could not be beat He promised to deliver us to the promised land But was stunted, one term short But you still cannot deny that he did distort, the status quo And ever since he came into power and claimed his staff I mean put together his cabinet The red seas hasn't been the same since Still trembling in his wake Afraid of the next reincarnation Of the day when he comes back to once again challenge those Who made the sea, red to begin with The day he stares injustice in the eye once again With the answer to the question Can we really create the change, that will finally let our people Be free? He will then look to us and say Yes We Can
