Passing Me By

I watch the years

As they fall away

Into some distant dimension

Of time and space,

Wishing and dreaming

For what once was,

But knowing all the same

I can’t ever go back;

It’s too late for me,

As I internally bleed

And my heart spills out,

Cracked and bruised

From all the damage

I’ve done;

I am dying.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
