Passion
People often ask why poetry is my passion, I tell them that's how I find solace when my mind is clashing, Conditioned as a youth to be void of emotion, If kept bottled, when released it'll be deeper than the ocean I found the inseparable love of poetry at the age of eight, when my world was shook like an earthquake, when my dad left the earth, I wrote to ease the hurt, I wrote to ease the pain, sadness overtook me knowing I'd get no response when I called his name, I write whether I'm happy or sad, from the present to the past, I let the pen glide across the page, and paint vivid pictures like a painter on stage, I write to heal the souls of the broken hearted, I write to give hope to the down trodded, I write to be the voice of my people, trying to overcome obstacles and be equal, I write from the soul, because, well that's all I know.
