Passion

What am I going to be?

I am interested in it all,

I enjoy it all.

My family, teachers, and friends,

They tell me:

You can be anything,

Just do what will make the most difference.

So I wait.

Watching for revelation.

Still unable to choose.

Until one day at school,

A rank odor infilitrates every room.

I walk into Honors Biology.

Sheep brains,

Waiting for dissection.

Lined up on the tables,

The last one resembling cottage cheese.

Some faint, vomit, run.

I am in love.

The parts, their designated functions.

Such extraordinary capabilities.

Boggling.

I have so many questions.

Only to find there are no answers.

Revelation.

So many search for phenomenons,

When we are the greatest works of science in the world.

So much is still to be discovered.

So much is still unknown.

Therefore:

I want to dedicate my life.

To researching advances in neuroscience.

The best part is:

While I am making a difference,

I will love what I am doing.
