Passion of Life

We all are on a search

A hunt

A journey to find our passion

We look all around us

Where

Who

When

Why

How

What

We do not know.

Eventually maybe it will hit us

Like a rush of cool water

Or the breeze of a new spring wind

And all at once-

We will know.

It could be the words of others

Coaxing gently with honey-dripped phrases

Falling softly on willing ears

Telling us to be our best self.

It could be the dawn of a new day

Painting streaks of red and yellow and pink

Across the horizon

Much like the palette of a new day

A new life.

It could be the rhythm of a song

Syncopated with the beat of our heart

Exploring our deepest thoughs

As we relate to it and struggle to resolve it.

But for me

What am i inspired by?

I believe that our world

Though sometimes evil and cold

Cruel and cunning

Random and mysterious

Also has its beautiful moments.

The laugh of a child

The hug of a friend

The smell of a flower

The smile of a grandparent

All are signals of beauty

Of creativity

Of purity.

I am inspired by the simple moments of life such as these.

They tell me that life

Though hard and trying

Has a purpose.

I am inspired to live for that purpose

Whatever it may be- like

I might push to be a kinder person

Or to appreciate the words of others

Or to create art I love

Or to push myself to greatness

Or to strive to create positive change

In a world where it is so desperately needed.

Our world has many options and possiblities

There is inspiration all around

You only must wait for it to come to you

And then you will know.

You will feel inspiration

And use it to do great things.
