Passion Play

Curiosity keeps the darkness at bay,

Gifts deeper meaning to my day.

Something to ground me

In foreign cities and heavier days,

Without ever chaining me

To one place.

Let’s always welcome discovery,

you and me,

To fill in the blind spots of identity

And color them vividly

Unapologetically

Beautifully.

For if you’re not rolling

You might as well be stone,

And if you’re not looking

You’ll never see or know.

So let’s grab hold of this flighty intrigue

And follow it for all we’re worth

And never fall

Into such stagnant complacency,

Comfortable prison though it may be.

For if you’re not learning

You’re forgetting

And if you’re not searching

You are lost.
