Past "friends"

Proverbs 17:17

17 A friend loves at all times,
and a relative is born to help in adversity.

 Past “friends”

I knew him well a friend of mine?

Thought of him like a son.

It took no time to drift apart

it seems the past is gone.

We stood together hand and hand

opposing a deceiving foe.

I thought we would stay as one

but how was I to know?

That in a short span of time

he took one as a friend,

who was like the former foe,

deceitful to the end.

Now his friend is gone and so is mine.

Repairs are out of sight.

No need to repave roads of the past

without trust ... it won't be right
