Past, Present, Future

Past, Present, Future

Living life day to day

there's mistakes and motion

every Saturday night.

Anywhere you go

there's people around who don't really

truly know.

They all look,

judging by what they see

not by what they know

using their eyes

but not their minds.

All stopped at a red light.

Hitting the breaks again

stopping themselves

stopping before they know

Know who they're looking at

Know the past, present and future

Know it all and still

be able to love

even though they know.

They let the rain fall through their fingertips

Letting the unclaimed knowledge slip away

as quickly as raindrops leave them behind.

Losing the opportunity for knowledge

Knowledge of another person

a person who might be able to keep secrets

become their other half.

If only they'd catch the rain

they might find that they are missing

something in their life

something stuck between

day and night.

Something that lives in the eves

the breaks of dawn and dusk

that they can only know by finding out

Past, Present and Future.
