The Path

"It's time to face your demons" "I don't want to!" screamed the child. A path into the unknown Has just become available Stones line its sides The unknown is forever He starts, watery eyes blur a dismal scene Desolate emptiness And silence Yes, silence The silence associated with the dead Who linger this path The idea that no amount of tears Could create a river, Life-giver of nature, But the child still cries Pain is his nature Much like hunger Thus he hungers for tears, Tears like needles piercing every pore of his skin Impatiently awaiting a life of suffering Instead he faces a stone-lined path Into the unknown
