The Path

We're given a life / We're dealt our lot / And what we get / Is what we've got / The path we choose / Is set in stone / We walk with others / Or travel alone / She took the path / Less traveled by / A lonely road / A dull gray sky / The ground was littered / With glass and tears / And none with whom / To share her fears / The end of the path / Was a grateful death / She stood on the edge / Took one last breath / Then off the final / Cliff she went / Her troubles over / Her short life spent.

It reflects the struggle in each of us in how we choose to live our lives and the choices we make.
